Dely is the AI assistant built into Delyan. Ask about your firewalls in plain English and Dely answers from your own loaded configurations and analysis results, with the sources it used.
Dely runs entirely on your Delyan server. Your questions and answers never leave your network, and Dely works in air-gapped environments too.
Opening Dely
Click the orange chat icon in the bottom-right corner of any page. The chat stays with you as you move around the app, so you can ask about whatever you're looking at.
Throughout the app you'll also see small ✨ Ask Dely buttons next to policies, objects, findings and apps. They open the chat with a question already filled in, such as "Explain policy 42" or "Where is this object used?".
What you can ask
- "Give me a security summary."
- "What are my critical issues? What should I fix first?"
- "List all permissive policies in VDOM root."
- "Which interfaces are enabled but never used?"
- "Explain policy 42 in plain English."
- "Which VPN tunnels use weak encryption?"
- "Which policies allow Zoom?"
- "What's my compliance score?"
- "What changed between my last two configurations?"
- "Which firewall has the weakest posture?"
Dely gives the most complete answers once the analysis for a configuration has finished. If Dely says it doesn't have data yet, open the device's analysis pages, make sure analysis has finished and ask again.
Two modes
Switch between modes at the top of the chat:
- General for any question about your configurations and findings.
- Troubleshoot for connectivity problems. Describe the symptom, for example "Users in VLAN 100 can't reach the app server", and Dely checks routing, policies and NAT in turn to find what's in the way.
Trusting the answers
Every answer shows how well it's backed by your data, along with the sources Dely used. Click a source to see the exact policy or object behind a claim.
If Dely can't find evidence in your configurations, it says so instead of guessing. Treat those answers as hints and check them before acting. Dely can't answer questions about live traffic or about devices you haven't loaded.
Working with answers
- Follow-ups: suggested next questions appear under each answer.
- Copy an answer to paste it into a ticket or report.
- Regenerate to get a fresh answer to the same question.
- Rate answers with thumbs up or down.
- History: reopen past conversations from the clock icon in the chat header.
Start a new conversation when you switch topics. Dely remembers the conversation so far, which helps for one investigation but can confuse unrelated questions.
Natural-language search
Dely → Search lets you search all your loaded configurations by describing what you're looking for, for example "VPN tunnels using AES-256" or "policies allowing port 80". You don't need to know how the configuration spells it. Each result shows the device, the section it came from and a link to open it.
AI reports
Dely can also write summaries for a specific audience, such as a CEO or a network engineer. See Reports.
