Delyan ships as a single self-extracting .run installer that works on any modern Linux distribution (Ubuntu/Debian, RHEL, Rocky, AlmaLinux, Oracle Linux — glibc 2.28+). Everything it needs, including the Dely AI assistant, is inside that file, so the server never needs internet access, not during installation and not afterwards.
Before you start, check that your server meets the requirements.
1. Get the installer
You receive a single installer file with your license bundle:
delyan-<version>-installer.run
One file covers all supported distributions.
Copy the installer to the server by USB drive or by scp from a machine on the same network.
A .sha256 checksum file is included alongside the installer. On the server, verify the copy is intact:
sha256sum -c delyan-<version>-installer.run.sha256
2. Run the installer
Make the file executable and run it as root:
chmod +x delyan-<version>-installer.run
sudo ./delyan-<version>-installer.run
The installer performs every step automatically:
- Checks system requirements (architecture, glibc version, RAM, free disk space)
- Generates per-install encryption keys
- Installs and enables the
delyan.servicesystemd unit - Starts the service
To upgrade, run a newer .run installer on the same server. Your data, license and analysis history in /var/lib/delyan are kept automatically.
3. Check that Delyan is running
delyan-status
This shows the service state, memory, AI engine status and recent logs in one screen. For a quick check, the service should show as active and set to start at boot.
The installer places several commands in /usr/local/bin:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
delyan | Show the running service, or start it |
delyan-status | Health, memory, processes, errors (--save for support) |
delyan-backup | Back up now · --list · --prune |
delyan-restore | Roll back the last upgrade (code + data) |
delyan-uninstall | Remove Delyan — asks before touching your data |
4. Open Delyan in your browser
From any computer on the same network, open:
https://<server-ip>
The first visit shows a certificate warning because Delyan uses a self-signed certificate by default. Choose Advanced, then Proceed to continue.
Delyan listens on port 443 (HTTPS) and port 80 (HTTP). If the page doesn't load, check that a firewall on the server or on the network isn't blocking these ports. The AI engine needs about 30–60 seconds after every start before it is ready.
You should now see the Delyan sign-in page. Continue with First login & license.
